Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Winter ~

As we continue on with the weekly Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge, we are into the third of the seasons series with “winter”.  When I originally proposed this series to Cee, I think it was way back in March or April, and we in Central New York were struggling to come out of the winter blues that had held us captive for too long.  I, personally, was depressed and needed a “boost” of color and spring thoughts or photos.  Now that we’re into summer, we’re looking back at the cold weather that started it all!

Hope you enjoy my little trip down Memory Lane of winter 2012-2013!  Until next time, TTFN ~ Tamara Eckstadt

Colors of Your World: A Photo Assignment ~

I just now heard about Karma’s photo assignment, and it’s due in less than an hour.  I need to pay more attention!  Here’s what Karma says:  “Choose a color that you are drawn to. Post at least 3 photos (can be more if you like!) that feature this color in some way. Tell me what it is that draws you to this color. If you’d like, take it a step further and do a little research like Joanne did and find out some of the psychology of your chosen color.”

Well, considering I’m all about color, I couldn’t pass this up, even if there was less than an hour to get it in under the wire!  My favorite color is, and always has been, purple.  I think some of it stems from my childhood when I was in love with the flavor grape.  Add to that the fact that I was pretty much brought up with lilacs in and around my house when I was at a child.  The grape flavor and the scent of lilacs has deeply imprinted purple into my psyche.

The Color Psychology of Purple

    • Purple is the symbol of royalty and wealth.

    • Purple also represents wisdom and spirituality.

  • Purple does not often occur in nature, it can sometimes appear exotic or artificial.

Well, I don’t know if the “psychology” fits me, but I sure could go for a grape popsicle about now!

Hope you enjoyed my visit with purple!  Thanks for stopping by, and feel free to come again!

Until next time, TTFN ~ Tamara
